I waited here for 2 hours trying to find a ride to the UK. There was very little traffic on a Monday night and I was just happy to accept a ride to Calais in the end, shortly before sunset. The driver drove me there out of pitty, I think. But seriously, stick to the bigger service station in Jabbeke. There's not a ton of traffic either, but at least you spot a UK licence plate every now and then.

I waited here for 1 hour trying to find a ride to the UK. I eventually decided to take a ride one gas station further. A BIG MISTAKE!Though there are not many cars going to UK here, at least there are some. At the next gas station there was one car in the first hour, that is it.
So, even if it seems bad, don't get tempted to go one gas station further. You'll regret it.

just outside the city center of veurne across the Q8 gasoline station, there's place to stop for cars, plenty of cars coming from the seaside (koksijde and De Panne) goin direction Brussels. not a good place if you wish to go direction france.―Anonymous

i´m not sure if it´s the exact position, but somewhere around here (but on the motorway)is the last service station on the motorway before france. many trucks heading to the uk via eurotunnel do their last stop here before entering the train. use a sign or ask drivers (truckers should be better, most cars are full), try to be early,it´s less traffic in the evening and it´s not nice to stand there when it´s dark. but when it´s not to late, you should manage it to get a quick ride to the uk, probaly through the tunnel. trucks don´t have to pay for a second driver, but be sure having your passport with you and don´t carry any illegal shit!―Anonymous

very dangerous, had to run away, it's an old parking lot with many gay men masturbating and doing other things, don't go there!―Anonymous

Cars can park there quite easily, also on the parking spot right next to it. McDo is close to this position, too, for asking people. Furthermore there is a traffic light a little bit ahead towards the river, which also marks the end of possible spots to stand with a sign or the thumb since there is no place to stop a car and the traffic is getting too fast.―Anonymous

This is a good petrol station heading to Dunkerque or Calais. Not exactly sure of the location either, as it's not on satellite.―Anonymous

During the holidays a lot of families with children (so with no space for you...) - probably because it's a very nice place to have a break.―ICOS

Stood there on the highway entree, got a ride within 10sec, towards Gent. Maybe helped that we where there during work-traffic hours (6/7pm)―Anonymous
